"save your money"
This is a great smoke, great taste, great construction, excellent appearance. It is a very expensive smoking experinece that you can get for much less money. The Excalibur #1 is as good at 1/3 the price. But if you need the status of smoking these go for it, the Taste wont disappoint you.

"Disappointing"
Slightly bitter and somewhat harsh with none of the complexity of flavors I was looking for. At its best the Double R still ranks as one of the best cigars I have ever smoked but the current vintage pales in comparison.

"Smoke em if you got em"
This cigar is an all time favorite, the cigar you pull out of the humidor when you think "I must have a rich, spicy, perfect smoke." Invest a few bucks and when that moment comes you will have a light spicy treat waiting to please your tastebuds, fill the air with an absolutely beautiful aroma, and leave your mouth smooth as cream. Nobody else makes them like Davidoff. Nobody.

"A consistent delight."
Davidoff really knows what they are doing. each cigar looks beautiful and stays together very well not to mention their superior taste and even burns. This one is a bit spicier than the others; it goes great with a full-bodied shiraz. I've had 4 or 5 by now and they're always dead-on alike; an amazing consistency.

"A cigar for special occasions"
At its best the Davidoff Double R is a peerless cigar. Everything about it is top notch: the beautiful golden wrapper, burn, draw and overall construction but it is the complexity of flavors that stand out. It is incredibly nutty, creamy & smooth with hints of coffee, butterscotch and chocolate. Medium bodied.

"Not what I expected"
After reading all the hype over Davidoff I finally broke down and tried one. This was enjoyable, but not the smoke I expected. Flavor and finish were maybe slightly above average, but the remainder of its qualities were so so. You can find much better overall smokes out there without paying such a high price.

"A wonderful smoke"
A wonderful smoke that performed well. Loved the even burn, had tastes of nuts and cedar. Nice, mellow aroma. Worth the money.

"YES BABY"
Super. One of the best cigars of the world. I smoke a lot of Cuban and non Cuban, but this Double R is FANTASTICO!

"My absolute favorite"
My absolute favorite US store bought smoke. The packaging alone when buying a full box is a must see. Top notch!

Medium, complex, flavorful: Only in the Fuente's dreams do they make a cigar as good as this. I bow to Henkie Kellner.
