New cigar, needs to age in Humidor for 60 days or so.

Medium bodied flavors of spice, some cocoa, and a nutty component with a long spicy finish. Good draw, aroma, and mediocre burn. The best of the line.

NEW CUBAN CIGAR, AS GOD AS COHIBA

"the best"
This is one of the best cigars you will ever smoke. The Burn is great. Great tastes of nuts and spice. I prefer this over the Hoyo and the Saint Luis Rey. You will enjoy everything about this cigar from its long finish to its smooth draw. Dont miss out!!!!!

"Bore me More"
Picked up a couple of these at a little cigar shop in Antigua. Beautiful chocolate-brown color which burned well and had a nice easy draw. The flavor started out like pencil lead then got slightly fruity towards the middle. Last part was kinda blaugh. There was no outrageous flavor that I could taste in this cigar. The Fonseca #1's I picked up in the same store were far better for a little better that half the cost.

all I can say is that the VR Unicos, the Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona and the Diplomaticos #2 are the golden cigar trio !

"Awesome"
I picked this cigar for my 100th registered review, and it was certainly appropriate for the momentous (ha!) occasion. It had a wonderfully smooth flavor of coffee and mild spice with some leather and cream. It was truly an enjoyable smoke, one I hope to repeat long before I fire up another 100 cigars!

"Superb"
This has to be one of the best cigars made!! Burn is great. But the taste s of nuts and spice are fabulous. I prefer this over the Monty #2. Last third is so spicy. Has a long finish as well. had a bit of a tight draw at first but once I got it going it was fine. Time to order a box of these babies!!!!!

"Give it time"
I’ve just started digging into another box of these April06 and have been smoking them every few months to see what aging does for them. All those delicious flavour and aromas are still there, but being a bit young it had a harsh edge over the old fellas I’ve had in the past, but I just picked out my fullest single malt (Ardbeg) and as I type this I’m almost burning my fingers. A lot like to compare these with the Monty2, personally I find the flavours of the Vagas more interesting, but to judge this relatively new torpedo against the best tells you what a gem this is.

Wow what a beautiful well made delicious cigar that lasted forever with never a bad draw. One relight. That aside it is one of the finest cigars made. Delicious smooth flavor of leather and nuts. Great aroma too. Get one!

"Second only to MC #2"
An outstanding cigar in every way. Just not quite as complex as MC #2 and not as muscular a wrap. But damn close. Had a box, didn't last long.

"Top Torp"
I smoked another last week and i stand by my original review, their great. For whatever reason mine seems to need a regular dusting down from the humidor while all the other sticks in there seem perfect although the smoke was totally unaffected. Given their a really consistent cigar and some box's of Monty2s can look like a bag of spanners i'll put my money here any day.

"Excellent all around"
Got a recent production box. Yields tons of spicey, chocolate mixed with woody flavors. Big thing is they are consistent; unlike Monty 2's which can vary within the box. A great smoke, full bodied and bold

"Fantastic Flavour"
Looks good, excellent construction, burn and draw were perfect until I had to touch it up towards the end. Flavour starts with classic tobacco and cigar box notes and develops nicely to a rich earthy leather with a hint of roast nuts. I smoked a Monty#2 and a Diplomaticos#2 in the week before this one, both great cigars, but this is the one that sticks in my mind. The flavour was fantastic. If I had thinner fingers I’d have smoked more of it.

"worthy"
Had one of these on the deck the other night after a stressful day at work and what a great choice. Started out smooth and creamy right from the get go with loads of leather, pepper, and toasted wood/creamy coffe rolled all up into one. Loads of smoke billowed the whole time. Never needed tending and smoked consistently right down to the nub. I bought a box and I can not wait to see what time in the humidor does for the lot if I can stay away from them long enough.

"ISOM Club selection"
This is what I was expecting from a Cuban cigar. The construction was top notch, with a smooth draw and an even burn. The taste was spicey with a nice finish. Unfortunately the ISOM club only sent me one of this item, so I ordered some more. A great smoke!

"A must try"
If you enjoy the Montecristo No. 2 but find it slightly too strong then this is THE cigar for you. Wonderful creamy smoke. Great burn. Perfect draw. Only thing to complain about I can think of is that apperance is sometimes flawed with spotty wrappers and an occasional small bumb here and there. This is, however, only a minor complaint.

"Classic"
This is an old school Cuban-tasting cigar. Attractive pyramid vitola. Tawny brown wrapper with miniscule veins. Solid construction with no soft spots. Deceivingly bland prelight aroma. Easy light. Good draw with the perfect amount of resistance. Even burn without the need for relighting or correciton. Salt-and-pepper ash. Billowy white smoke. Started with straight in-your-face tobacco and leather in the first third. The tobacco flavor remained the prominent flavor and assumed a "toasted" character as it was smoked (as has been described). This was joined by notes of oak, white pepper, and a mild saltiness in the middle third. In the last third, grassy notes and a mild citrus flavor danced in and out - all layered on the toasted tobacco foundation. All in all, this hour-and-a-half smoke is a classic Cuban cigar. It is tannic and flavorful, but not loaded with Vitamin N. Will definitely age well. Pairs well with a strong beer or coffee.

"Compared to what?"
Lovers of the venerable Montecristo No. 2 will enjoy this well-crafted and beautiful cigar. It is comparable to the Monte in terms of strength and complexity, but is a more consistent performer with a unique and intriguing flavor profile, somewhat reminiscent of the Bolivar BF. Lots of tangy citrus and wood, with a memorable finish smacking of spicy peppers and the finest cuban tobacco. Only the best cigars can integrate such a spectrum of full and sophisticated flavors, while remaining in balance with the overall strength of the vitola. One of my favorite pyramides.

"The ones who know.."
..say that it takes more than one sample to judge a cigar. Fair enough. The Unicos that I smoked yesterday evening in front of the fireplace and drinking a very nice Armagnac was actually # 3 or 4 of the box. I have to admit: it gets better every time. While all base features are always there (see my first comment), the Unicos becomes even smoother, almost sweet in a masculine sort. Good if not excellent construction (last inch or so difficult to keep lit) completes the picture of a great cigar.

"Don Alejandro strikes again"
After a so and so experience with a famosos, here I am back to my veneration for the venerable Don A. The Unicos is a very, very good cigar, with great flavors (earth, cocoa, a hint of leather), almost impeccable construction and an easy draw. And this is just the first of a box (shared with a friend) directly from Vuelta Abajo. I expect it to become even better after some time in my best humidor. A confirmation.

Dark and delicious the cigar was not only a beautiful dark chocolate color, but it delivered a real deep flavor of roast nuts and leather. What a great smoke!

"Wow What a Cigar"
Again two boxes, one unknown and one 04. The unknown is very dark chocolate, mottled with oil. The 04 was a light brown. The darker cigar was hugh...Strong intense smoke...Light headed halfway thorugh.. Leather, cocoa..The o4 had the same favors but less intense, actually more enjoyable. I recomend this cigar however you can get it

"Classic Habanos"
This cigar epitomizes classic habanos. It's rough looking, burns well, and is loaded with earthy, leathery flavor that seems to come only from the Island South of Miami. I would be delighted to smoke this any time.

Great flavor in a cigar with an '03 box date. It could only get better with age. I am looking forwarwd to tasting them with some age on them.

"O so close"
It could have been great, but for a plug that developed about half way through. The wrapper was a bit rough and the cigar was somewhat lumpy, but the flavor was very nice. The spicy woody flavor was very complex with hints of cloves and orange peel. Too bad I didn't get to make it to the end.

"Damn the torpedos"
Damn the torpedos coming out of the islands have been good lately. A great wrapper and construction, nice pre-light aroma and plenty of smoke. A lot of flavor here, spicy coffee, toffee and cocoa. A good strong finish. One of the best.
