Even with a lot of extra humidor time, this cigar is just poor all around. I am a bit disappointed that I let it take up humidor space for this long, but I was not really itching to smoke it. Probably a good Thompson, but that is still a bad thing folks.

"Not a JR"
The Thompson brand is ok for a buck or less a stick. It does not measure up to the JR brands. Overall, a fairly mild smoke with average construction, draw and flavor.

"Not a good buy"
This cigar doesn't have a lot of flavor thoughout the whole thing. I left them in my humidor for about 1.5 weeks and they didn't even smoke well after that. The burn is fine but the flavor is bad and they are harsh after about half of the smoke is over. DO NOT GET

"Thompson Phoenix Lonsdale"
Very bland cigar. Nice toasty flavor that hints at more but never delivers. Didn't develop any flavor until the last couple of inches. Last inch or so was chocolaty, light roast coffee. Burned hot during last third but good ash. Very bland but a good one to smoke around people who don't enjoy cigar smoke very much. Can't offend anybody.

"Consider the source"
In my experience with Thompson brand cigars, there simply are no GREAT offerings. Frankly, this was, in my opinion, one of the better ones Thompson has offered up. But that is all relative. I would buy a JR Alternative over this anyday.

Keep in mind that this is a 1$ stogie and you may find yourself enjoying it a little more on the course or in the boat. Probably more of a leaf raking cigar though. I will say that despite relative harsh tones in this cigar, the construction and burn were quite good after some time in my humidor.

For a buck, give it a shot. I tend to try Thompson sample packs if I am curious though.
