"Super Mild"
I cant say anything bad about this cigar. It has typical Mac mildness, but that could be a good thing if you like Macs. Perfectly constructed, perfect draw, cut perfectly, burned perfectly and held its ash for almost 2 inches.

"it is what it is.."
a $4 - $5 cigar. I originally bought these because I was looking to get a new ashtray and they happened to have a nice Macanudo Club ashtray for free with purchase of a 10box of the Hyde Parks (N,R,M)..
I didn't expect the cigar to knock me off my feet, nor did I expect it would be terrible. True to form, it was neither. It was just a good quality, well made cigar. Good enough to not have to save you from smoking on the 90+s in your humidor, but equally good enough to save you from having to smoke a the bucksticks every single day.

"Just good..."
...and that's about it. I would smoke another. Ash was the most notable aspect of this cigar. It held on for about two inches! After that it started to burn too hot.

"Disappointment"
I was expecting this to be a top tier smoking experience. Boy, was I disappointed. Not that this is a terrible cigar, it's more average to slightly above average. I just expect more from a Macanudo. The two I smoked had a grassy taste early on, even with several months in the humidor. The burn and aroma were better, just not great. For the price there are many better cigars to be had.

"An old favorite"
I recently revisited my old favorite and found that, although it is still a wonderful cigar through and through, it is no longer my taste. A bit too mild, although the appearance and lovely oily wrapper is quite pleasing.

"A Good Smoke"
Smooth and mild. Beautiful wrapper. The folks who reviewed this as having coffee and nut tastes, especially aftertastes, were right on. Good draw, great even burn. Very tight ash that hung on.

"Nice, then I got to the end"
Looked great, smoked nice and mild, ash was white and hung on. But got slightly bitter toward the end. Got it in a 3 pack with a robusto and Maduro Hyde Park.

"Aftertaste..."
If your looking for after taste... buy these! I keep these stocked in my humidor for their pleasant mildness with coffee and nut hints. Plus the aftertaste they give goes great with sweets or coffee. The construction is always fine, just not terrific. Very good value and highly recommended

"Not bad for a mild smoke"
I bought into the CA hype and got a 5 pack of these to try out. My initial reaction was mild, easy to draw on and...it tasted like a Macunudo! I haven't had a Mac for 8 or 9 years now and it brought back memories of Macs. Interesting how that works. So that's a pro or con depending on whether you like Macs. Taste: mild, but did leave interesting tastes on my palate like coffee and nuttiness. If had a good degree of complexity for a mild smoke which was a pleasant surprise. It was consistent throughout the 1st and 2nd parts of the cigar. I stopped at the 3rd part since it was getting bitter. Burn: It got up to a 1" ash before I had to drop it into the ashtray since I was worrying it might fall off. This was even and every solid. Draw: Easy draw and the cigar felt light. It's not one where you have to puff hard on. Appearance: It was well-constructed. The foot where you make a cut seemed to have a stain on it. I'm not sure if it's from the manufacturer or retailer. Would I have one again? It's a mild smoke and for those moments where you want something for that occasion, probably in the morning, but most likely not for after dinner. It wasn't my favorite, but it was definitely above avg for a cigar and for a Macunudo.

"Good mild smoke"
A smooth light-brown wrapper covers this cigar with the trademark rounded cap. Removing the band is hard and can damage the wrapper so leave it on for as long as possible. It's a solid performer with a good draw and burn. While there's the occasional problem with consistency, (sometimes bitter, sometimes papery), when right it's a pleasant and smooth smoke with bread and vanilla flavors. Macs are much maligned but I think these are okay if you want to smoke smokething lite. No. 23 in Cigar Aficionado's top 25 cigars of 2005.

"Overhyped"
Ihave smoked several of these, and find them to be anything BUT mild. They seem strong, harsh, and definitely not something I would recommend to a beginner. If you want smooth, creamy, mild and flavorful, try Fonseca Vintages or Cusano 18's.

OK for a quick smoke. Taste is mild. Flavor diminishes after first half.Faint taste of vanilla. Burned good and even. Would smoke again. I have 2 more in humidor to enhance flavor a bit.

"Wanted To Like This More"
Macs were my first smoke yrs ago...haven't had one in while. Started out tasting like coffee and walnuts..not bad. By the last third taste was non-distinct. Construction was good. Burn became uneven but corrected itself. I was hoping this might be a good, inexpensive everyday kind of a smoke, but on further review, it just doesn't ring the bell.

"Interesting trying it now..."
The hyde park was probably my first cigar I used to buy on a regular basis about 10-12 years ago (didn't own humidor..so regular at that time meant about 2 times per month) Now being an increasingly obsessed cigar afficionado- I smoke about 3-4 per week and a large number of full humidors- I realize I have not tried this cigar in about 7 years. My first thought is that its an attractive cigar in a nice size- probably what attracted me to it in the first place. Tasting it now its obviously mild, somewhat bland tasting-- in other words- a great starter cigar. Not my choice now.. but its nice to go back to your roots.

"overrated"
Tried one of these recently. Had to see what all those new-smokers brag about.
Burn is uneven, taste- almost not even there, strength is mild for about first 2/3. After that, cigar is practically unsmokable.
Bottom line, heavily overrated cigar.

"mixed emotions"
A superb stick structurally and a fine smoke...for the first 2/3. What stared out as a "Mac" daddy cigar with a smooth finish turned into a nightmare stogie which burned ugly and tasted like a generic menthol cigarette.

"A average smoke"
This stick is well made with a lovely light shade wrapper but that is were it stops. This is a very light smoke the notes were of wood and that is it nothing to blow you away just a average smoke for the light smoking crowd.

"No Good"
Got one of these in Macanudo three pack...it was perhaps one of the worst smokes I have ever had...I got about a third of the way through it and decided I had suffered way to much and chucked it. Touch with a ten foot poll; flavor is best described as "bottom of ashtray", construction is horrible. Buyer Beware.

"Better out there for your money"
It's been a long time since I had one of these but a friend who smokes nothing but invited me to his home and I sprung for a couple. Mild with just a hint of nothing. My opinion a lot better out there at 1/2 the price.

"You get what you pay for!"
I won this in a contest from cigar world. The construction and burn was great. Nice draw. Good aroma but that is it. IT lacked depth. It is a very mild cigar with hints of cream. I can't complain to much since it was free but for the going price there is much better out there.

"The times are a changin'"
In the mid 90's I smoked a lot of these Hyde Parks, being new to cigars and not willing to experiment I was quite happy. Then I found some other cigars that did the job just as well or better for the the same cost. Now, with the year 2002 wrapping up, there are so many incredible cigars out, this Hyde Park pales in comparison. It is a plain tasting mild cigar in a solid wrapper that burns well. This is a good smoke, but the bar has risen quite a few pegs since 1995 and we are getting some incredible cigars for the same price! I will have to try the maduros, golds and robust macs for comparison.
