"sing it...over...rated!"
If you are a baseball fan you know the title of this one is a common chant for a supposedly great player who just cannot get it done. That is the case here. High price tag and pedestrian performance. Not terrible, ok nutty flavor and solid construction, but nothing to justify the payout.

"A Step Up in Strength"
Still has the characteristic Graycliff taste but with more kick. Not too much though, didn't prove to strong to enjoy. I agree with the last three reviewers. I am puzzled by the earlier reviewers comments on the construction of Graycliff cigars. While sometimes they are rolled a little loose, I have never had a burn or draw problem with any of them.

"Excelent"
Very peppery, mainly white pepper, with hints of dark chocolate and strong slightly bittter coffee, a very pleasing mix of flavors especially after a hearty dinner. Canoed a little on me but after I corrected it it burned fine

"A different experience"
I recieved 2 of these cigars as a gift from one of my clients. He also happens to be the official Graycliff distributer in the state. His cigars are stored in his cigar refrigerator/humidor and the construction looked perfect. I am starting to wonder if Cigar International is given the seconds or the cheaper grades to sell becuase this cigar looked and tasted pretty damn good. The draw was tight, and the tobaco was very dense. I got flavors of coffee, leather, and a burnt toast. I wouldn't want to smoke this every day. It's flavors are too complex for an everyday. I am bidding on a 5 pack of the Double Espresso right now on Cbid. I hope I don't have the same experience as some of the other people on this fourm with them. All in all though the 2 that I had were right up there with some of the best I've smoked.

"Tasty"
I smoked my first one of the other night. It is a good looking cigar with nice CR wrapper, one of my favorite wrappers. The cigar cut and lit well. Pre-light draw was a little loose and tasted like light chocolate. Initially the flavors started out with the same pre-light draw taste of cocoa, and coffee with cream. As I smoked the flavors changed to dark chocolate and espresso. Imagine that 🙂 I nubbed this cigar. With a little time in the humi, these will be great. I will not pay retail for these. Fortunately, you don't have to. At 7-8 bucks Ea., these are hard to pass up.

"Paying for the name"
I have to agree with cigarribbi. His review is my sentiments exactly! This is from CI: "A tiny team of one dozen master rollers quietly craft cigars in Nassau, Bahamas...". Master rollers? These guys must be OLD master rollers cuz quality is poor. But at least they're consistent...always a loose roll, and uneven burn...good job, old geezers! Flavor was good tho! Leather and spice with hints of "espresso". Ended a little harsh even tho the last of my 5 pk I had was resting for almost a yr. Started of med bodied but grew in strength as it burned, and by the time it was nubbed, I was a little dizzy...woah! Just got an 18 ct bdl of the double espresso and they're much, MUCH better quality. Must not be the "master rollers" making the dbl espressos.

"A very enjoyable smoke"
Great looks and construction. Altogether a very pleasant cigar with volumes of smoke. Mocha elements, but no sweetness. At this point the Espresso line is my #2 Graycliff line, the Professionale is still #1 in my book.

"Horrible looks/construct... Great taste"
This cigar had a freakin' dent in it and had a completely uneven bumpy appearance!!! Look like it was rolled by a drunk... and it burned for about 1/2 the cigar that way. The other half way trough burned evenly smoothly. Throughout had tons of smoke and great flavor... The fact that Graycliff saysit has original cuban rollers from Cohiba is probably true (they are probably from the late 90's-00's), their quality control is horrible, the appearances are ugly, burn uneven, BUT this expresso TASTED GREAT!!! with tons of smoke!!! Ah my graycliff PG 5-pack is gone... As you ascend the graycliff product line you get worse construction and better flavor... not going to revist these again (maybe a nicely rolled expresso handpicked)... ESPECIALLY FOR THE TREMENDOU$ PRICE!!! and I really like expen$ive cigars, just want my moneys worth...
Ps Expresso was the best taste by far!!

"Can you spell r-i-p-o-f-f"
So CI had a special, 5 Graycliff Espressos with 5 Gurkha Legends for $80 so "let's give it a try". The Gurkhas won hands down and after smoking 3 Graycliffs, I gave the last 2 away. $400 a box, you gotta be kidding me!!! I wouldn't pay $50 a box!

"If it didn't cost so much.."
then i'd smoke a lot more of these. Great full bodied smoke with perfect construction and burn. Very strong flavors of espresso and chocolate and spices. It is a very taste smoke to be sure. It's just I can afford to smoke these often as I would like. Great cigar.

"Hold On !!!"
This is a powder keg! VERY heavy and the name fits. Very strong espresso taste and lasted the entire smoke. Don't sit down too long smoking this one, move around because it will sneak up on you!. Not for the weak at heart, great for the experienced and even then it will hit you. Solid smoke, drew well and is worth the cost every once in a while.

"Nice smoke but ..."
This was an enjoyable cigar but too short. The spicey flavor started about a quarter inch in, but buy the time I was really into the smoke, it was almost gone. Construction was very good, with a nice easy draw and decent burn. Normally I like longer sticks, but got this at a great CBID sampler price. I doubt that I would pay the amount that this stick usually costs.

"I Think We've Hit A Wall, Here"
a hard brick wall, at that. I tried to give this piece of rope its due, considering it is, ostensibly, a Graycliff. Sorry, if I want a kick, I'll stick to CAO's Piranhas and Gurkhas. Or twists of corn husks.
This "cigar" was one dimensional, insipid, uninspiring, and not worth the price or name. Sorry folks, but Graycliff has done better than this. And at over $17 a stick, I won't be going back for more.

"Holy Moly!"
I echo the other reviewer's comments. This is an exceptional smoke and deserves high marks. In my opinion, this is the best of the Graycliff line and worth every penny. Very full-bodied, killer construction, and the taste is amazing. If you can find them on sale, don't hesitate to buy them. It's an expensive smoke, but it's the first expensive smoke that may actually justify the price. You will not be disappointed.

"Pleasantly suprised!"
Where to begin...(obviously cigars are a matter of taste-this one matches well with my personal prefrences; being strongly flavored, with such, of chocolate, espresso, and varying spice-that being said, for those of you who also like these qualities in your smoke, I speak to you!: incredibly potent flavor-and an outstanding one at that...When considering comparisons of cigars smoke right out of a "new" box, the aroma (and flavor) was beat only by a handfull of my beloved cuban cigars (I've tried at least one vitole from every respectable brand besides Cohiba-I can't justify spending over $500 for a box of 25!). This is by far the best non-cuban cigar I've had, and I honestly can say it very much is able to compete with the havanas. When compared to other sticks of the same price, it is worth every cent, however, considering I can get a box of Bolivar robustos for considerably less, it is overpriced...but a very memerable smoke that I'm sure I will come back to on occasion...should age VERY NICELY.

"Simply excellent"
After trying the red and blue lines, I was ready for a fuller bodied Graycliff, and here it is. Super loose draw that may have been more suited for a punch than the XiKAR cut, but loads of lucious smoke. A perfect burn. This was probably the most complex non-Cuban I have smoked with the exception of some of the smaller Opus X's. Varying degrees of expresso, coffee with cream, chocolate and cherries. Full bodied yet super smooth without an overabundance of spice. Tough to justify too often at the price, but a wonderful special occassion cigar.

"sets the standard"
i picked some up in nassau this fall... what a smoke! i like 'em strong, and the espresso line fit the bill. too expensive to smoke regularly, but on occasion, if i need to calibrate my baseline as to what a cigar should be, i bring one out. so far, it is the best smoke i've had. i wish i could find a cigar so good in the $10 range.
