"Turd"
What a disappointment for such a nice looking Maduro. It started out stubborn to light (I believe I collapsed one of my lungs). In hindsight I wish the bastard would have never lit!!! After near lung failure, I tasted hints of Marlboro or maybe even Lucky Strike, actually I wish I would have had a disgarded cigarette butte to scrap get the awful tasted out of my mouth. I am not one to put a cigar down, even a turd like this one, and I haven't had a cigar go out on me in years, yet this overachiever went out on me twice, after the second time and fearing collapse of the one good lung I still had, I gave up. I let it rest comfortably in the back yard next to a vintage selecion that my dog Fido had produced.

"Unreliable, moments of greatness"
Bought a box, smoked 'em on occasion for more than a year from the 'dor. With about 20 under my belt, the two big things about this cigar are: complex dark earthy sharp flavor, and irregular construction problems. Outta the box, I think that one outta three had some irregular burning that varied from no-problem to throw-it-away. Still, when they were burning good, they were a GREAT smoke.

"Always has been great to me."
Two years ago I got a good deal on a box of the #7 maduros and a box of the #7 naturals. I still have a handful left of each. I've concluded that I'd give the edge to the natural wrapper, but I love both of these cigars. The maduro is a dark oily beauty, with an earthy pre-light aroma, easy draw, tons of smoke, respectable burn (especially for a monster) and wonderful complex flavors. I'm a bit distressed that recent reviews have questioned the construction and the quality of the leaf; I hate to think that when these are gone I can't replace them with an equal cigar. Every once in a while I want a big cigar and I rotate these with the Brazilia Amazon and the 5 Vegas A Apocolypse. An all-time favorite. Given the size, I think the value is quite good.

"Full Bodied and Ready to Rock"
This bad boy was aged for an additional 7 months and it was wonderful, but the last fourth began to hot box and I had to put it out. For the most part it was deep black coffee and leather. I enjoyed this jewel.

"Good Ligero.."
This is La Gloria Cubana's answer to the Ligero craze. All in all a pretty good cigar, toothy, felty, good construction, a little pricey for what it is...flavorful and builds.

"Big butt cigar"
If you like a big butt cigar this one fits the bill. It is not as good as the natural Series R in this size but is an ok smoke. It is well made with a nice ash. Flavor is spicey with ceadr notes and gets stronger as you smoke it. It does have some sweetness to it at times but overall this is just an avergae cigar and not one I keep in inventory.

"light and fluffy"
I think these have changed over the last year or so, they are of medium body and extremely loose pull. Black, oily, and a tight ash. These used to be some of my favorite smokes but they have lost something lately and I think it is the good ligero leaf.

"Where's the beef?!"
Pulled this beautiful, fat cigar from the depths of my humidor after letting it age for approx. 1 yr. The appearance was very good, a dark, oily wrapper and an impressive size. LGC construction has always been very good to exellent and this stick was no exception. The cap was well constructed and cut evenly with no flaking. The pre-light draw was easy without bieng loose. Pre-light flavors of cedar and aged tobacco were evident. The cigar lit easily and evenly. The burn was even, at first. A slight deviation began soon after lighting and persisted throughout but did not signifigantly effect the smoking experience. The ash was loose and flaky buy had a nice grey / black strata. The taste was good, smooth with cedar notes, but sadly, that was the only note. This cigar was a dissapointment in it's surprising lack of flavor, spice, complexity and character. It ended up being an alright "one note" smoke.

"Not what I was expecting"
This is a giant of a cigar. The dark wrapper, with the length and ring size makes one think they are in for the smoke of their life. Unfortunately, I found the taste lacking. As a matter of fact, there was not much taste at all. I bought this cigar at a local pipe shop, and have had somewhat dry cigars from their humidors before. I am hoping that the problem with this cigar was that dried out effect previously mentioned. The construction of the cigar is great and the draw is perfect. If this thing had some flavor it would have been outstanding. Before making any final decisions on this cigar, I plan to try a few more from purchasded another tobacco shop.

"It's got potential"
Make sure you have a comfy chair and lotsa' time before lighting this thing up, you may be there a while. The first time I tried this last year, I fell in love with it. The nice, rich flavor delivered a deep sense of satisaction. Lately though, the flavor isn't there. Maybe I got a bad batch or something's changed in the recipe. Whatever it is, I am losing faith. There is way too much tobacco here to be anything less than spectacular.

"Great cigar to enjoy for a while"
I've had one of these sitting in the humidor for about 4 months now, and I finally got around to smoking it today. The cigar has an awesome look to it, with a great wrapper. It's nice and dark and oily, looks even and has minimal veins. The feel is nice, the cigar has some heft to it and feels solid. The stick smells nice, with a woodsy smell to it. Lighting took a few extra seconds than normal, but this is a big ring cigar. For the first inch or so, the cigar is pretty weak, but then it picks up significantly. The aroma is excellent, with a cedar like smell. The draw is even, but not alot of smoke comes out. The taste is hard to describe, but has hints of sweetness, and clove. It is very similar to a Partagas Black Label Maximo, but milder, which was a good thing. The cigar burns very slowly, and has a tight ash that won't fall until you tap it off. The cigar actually went out on me with 5" to go, so I put it aside for later this evening. The longer I smoked it, the more the flavor picked up, from mild to medium body. I got a good buzz off the cigar, too. Overall it was a great piece, with only some minor uneven burn as a dark spot on an otherwise shining smoke.

"The Good and the Burn"
Seen so many positive reviews on the Series R that I thought I would try one. Could not find the highly rated No. 5 M but the local shop had a No. 7 M. Ring size was a bit larger than I normally smoke so it almost took a bit of getting used to. Good flavor/spice. Picked up some sweetness here and there which was nice. Looked to be put together very well. Draw was good. I would have rated the stick higher but some burn problems tarnished by overall experience.

"One of the best ever"
Was lucky to get 4 freebies a few months ago. Smoked 2 right away, and one after 3 months "resting." WHAT A SMOKE!! Took me 3 hrs, 15 minutes, and along with a large snifter of Highland Park 18 yr old, this cigar created the sensation of a thousand naked angels dancing on my tongue. I didn't want it to end.

"Among the best"
Very good appearance and construction, with a lustrous dark maduro wrapper, whose sweet aroma is a prelude to what comes next. Once lit, the cigar is a tad tight in flavor in the very beginning, and starts coming alive after the first 1/2 inch or so. Then the experience begins: medium-to-full-flavor with strong notes of oak, floral sweetness, some leather, and an incredibly smooth and long finish. There were some burn inconsistencies (that corrected themselves in time), but the draw stayed absolutely perfect throughout. This is a very well rolled cigar, with an enticing flavor and a perfect finish. Regardless of price, it's one of the best. For the price, the best value there is (probably tied with the Excalibur No. I Maduro and Fuente Royal Salute Maduro).
