Bahia Gold took two full years to develop, with Tony Borhani and Don Douglas sourcing filler and binder from a small farm in the Dominican Republic and pairing it with what they considered the best Ecuador had to offer for the wrapper. First introduced in June 1997, it is a full-bodied, strong cigar with limited annual production, which has kept it a bit under the radar compared to more widely distributed lines. If you enjoy a bold Dominican-based blend with some age behind it, this one is worth seeking out.
