The Anejo XO is the cigar that put Balmoral on the map in the United States, built around exceptionally aged tobaccos by fourth-generation Royal Agio CEO Boris Wintermans. Its signature component is a Brazilian sun-grown Arapiraca wrapper, draped over a Dominican Olor binder and a blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Brazilian fillers. The line has since expanded to include three additional expressions, a Connecticut, an Oscuro, and a Nicaragua, each using the same aged tobacco foundation with different wrappers to deliver profiles ranging from creamy and mild to bold and earthy. For a European-owned brand that most American smokers had never heard of, the Anejo XO family has made a serious impression.
