Battleground is a Civil War-themed brand produced at the MATASA factory in the Dominican Republic's free trade zone, under the watchful eye of Manuel Quesada. The North and South series offered nine generals across three wrapper options, a mild Connecticut Shade, a Cameroon, and a full-bodied Connecticut Broadleaf maduro, giving the line a range that covered everything from beginner-friendly to serious enthusiast territory. It is a creative concept from a highly credible manufacturer, though the brand has not been visible in the market for many years.
