Blackened is a collaboration between Drew Estate and Metallica, developed in partnership with the band and named after their 1988 album track. The line is produced at Drew Estate's La Gran Fabrica in Esteli, Nicaragua, and blends Nicaraguan filler with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder. It is offered in two expressions: the M81 Maduro, which uses a Mexican San Andres wrapper, and the S84 Shade, which uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. The line takes its design aesthetic from the band's visual identity and has become one of the most prominent celebrity cigar collaborations in the premium segment.
