The Endure is the newest jewel in the Perez-Carrillo Series and the first release in the Perez-Carrillo Premier Collection. It represents the convergence of two legendary family legacies: the Perez-Carrillo family's journey from Cuba to the United States, and the Meerapfel family's decades-long effort to save authentic Cameroon wrapper tobacco from near extinction. In the 1990s, Rick Meerapfel was instrumental in keeping Cameroon tobacco alive in the challenging rain forest environment of Western Africa; the Endure is dedicated to his memory. This marks the first time Ernesto Perez-Carrillo has worked with a Cameroon wrapper since the 1970s when his father used it at El Credito. The binder is a dual Nicaraguan blend of Habano seed and Criollo '98, and the filler is Nicaraguan tobacco from Condega, Esteli, and Jalapa. Both sizes are box-pressed and made at the Casa Carrillo factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
