Cohiba (D.R.)

The Dominican Cohiba is an entirely separate brand from the famous Cuban original, produced by General Cigar and bearing no connection to the Havana-based Cohiba beyond the shared name, which has been the subject of long-running legal disputes. General Cigar's Cohiba line is made in the Dominican Republic and draws on a blend of aged Dominican tobaccos for a smooth, medium-bodied experience that is approachable and consistent. It has always lived in the shadow of the Cuban legend, but taken on its own terms it is a well-made cigar with solid construction and broad appeal. Enthusiasts new to the hobby should be aware that the red, white, and black banded Dominican version and the iconic Cuban Cohiba are completely different products.
