Cubita is a Dominican Republic brand produced by Quesada Cigars at their Manufactura de Tabacos S.A. factory in Santiago. Launched in 1987 as a companion to the popular Fonseca line, Cubita shares a similar Cubanesque philosophy but incorporates more ligero leaf, giving it a fuller, stronger profile than its sibling. The name is Spanish slang for "little Cuba," a fitting tribute for a brand built on Cuban-seed tobacco grown in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras. It was developed in partnership with the Sosa family, who helped distribute the brand in the United States, and has long been positioned as an affordable everyday smoke that honors the Dominican Republic's deep connection to Cuban cigar-making tradition.
