Cuvee

Cuvee was the prestige line launched by Michael Chiusano's DomRey Cigar Inc. in 2006, positioned above the value-priced Cusano portfolio as a step into the premium segment. Chiusano reserved the top ten percent of the tobacco his company sourced specifically for this line, separating it from the everyday Cusano blends. The line came in two expressions — Blanc and Rouge — differentiated by wrapper and character, with Blanc built around Connecticut shade and Rouge featuring a darker, bolder profile. Production was handled at Tabadom in the Dominican Republic under Hendrik Kelner, the same factory that made the Cusano flagship lines. Cuvee was acquired by Davidoff along with the broader Cusano portfolio in 2009 and continued as the higher-end face of the brand for a time before fading from the market.
