Don Tomas Candela

Don Tomas Candela is the green-wrapper entry in the Don Tomas family, finished in a Honduran Candela leaf — the double claro style that was once enormously popular before largely falling out of fashion. Candela wrappers are fired and dried rapidly to lock in chlorophyll, producing the distinctive olive-to-jade green color and a lighter, grassy, slightly sweet flavor profile. The filler draws on Colombian, Dominican, and Mexican tobacco, consistent with the broader Don Tomas blend of that era. While the Candela style has made something of a niche comeback in recent years, it was a genuine rarity in the Don Tomas lineup and likely one of the harder vitolas to find in the wild.
