The Don Tomas Special Edition was a two-track line offering two distinct expressions under a single banner. The Connecticut series used an Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut shade wrapper over a Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Mexican filler blend, producing a milder and more approachable smoke across a range of classic vitola sizes. The Corojo series within the Special Edition swapped to a Honduran Corojo wrapper and a Mexican San Andrés binder over Honduran and Nicaraguan filler — a considerably bolder, spicier direction. The dual-blend approach within one brand family gave retailers a way to offer Don Tomas across a wider range of strength preferences without fragmenting into entirely separate brands.
