Fonseca Cedar is a line extension of the Dominican Fonseca built under Manuel Quesada's MATASA operation, distinguished by its presentation in cedar sleeves and an Ecuadorian wrapper rather than the Connecticut shade of the classic line. Both natural and maduro expressions are offered across paired vitola sizes, with the maduro versions using Connecticut Broadleaf in place of the Ecuadorian natural wrapper. The Dominican and Nicaraguan filler blend represents a slight evolution from the all-Dominican construction of the classic line, adding Nicaraguan leaf for depth. A cedar-sleeved Churchill rounds out the lineup at the top of the size range. The cedar packaging nods to the traditional presentation associated with the original Cuban Fonseca's protective outer wrap.
