Fonseca Vintage is the premium expression of the Quesada-era Dominican Fonseca, built around an all-Dominican construction with an Ecuadorian wrapper. The defining characteristic of the Vintage is its tobacco, aged a minimum of five years in tercio bales before rolling. The tercio bale method, in which leaf is packed tightly inside bundles of royal palm bark and left to rest and ferment slowly, allows the tobacco to retain its natural oils while developing a deeper, more nuanced character. The result is a notably smooth and aromatic cigar, with a creaminess and complexity that sets it apart from the standard Fonseca lineup. Six vitolas are offered, including a cedar-tubed lonsdale and a petite belicoso, with pricing between $4.05 and $6.40.
