JR Edicion Limitada Alternativas is a series of Nicaraguan-made value cigars shaped to match the dimensions of popular Cuban Edicion Limitada releases, including the Cohiba Double Corona, Cohiba Sublimes, Hoyo de Monterrey Piramides, Montecristo Edmundo, Montecristo C, Romeo y Julieta Hermoso No. 1, and Hoyo Epicure. Each vitola uses an Ecuadorian wrapper over all-Nicaraguan filler and binder, and all are priced at a flat $2.25. The concept is a straightforward extension of JR's long-running Alternatives program, applying the same idea to the Cuban market's most prestigious special release sizes, making the unusual vitola formats of the Edicion Limitada series accessible to everyday smokers at a fraction of the cost.
