Dark Star was launched at the 2023 PCA Convention as Rocky Patel's first cigar to incorporate tobacco from Paraguay, a seed transplanted to Honduras and grown by the Plasencia family. The Honduran Corojo-seed wrapper covers a Mexican San Andres binder and a filler blend of Honduran Jamastran, Nicaraguan Jalapa, and Paraguayan-seed Honduran leaf, giving it a nutty, almond-forward character that Rocky likened to Cuban tobacco. Made in Honduras at the El Paraiso factory, it is a medium-bodied cigar designed to evoke a Cubanesque profile without the heaviness typical of full-bodied Honduran blends.
