Saint Luis Rey Carenas

The Saint Luis Rey Carenas takes its name from Puerto de Carenas, the original name of the Port of Havana, which served as the hub where New World tobacco was loaded onto Spanish vessels bound for Europe. Handcrafted at the La Flor de Copán factory in Honduras by the Grupo de Maestros, the base Carenas blend features a Nicaraguan wrapper over a Honduran binder and filler for a medium-bodied profile of earth, spice, coffee, and cream. The Carenas Ultramar, named for the Spanish word for 'overseas', extends the nautical narrative with extra-aged tobaccos and a shift to an all-Nicaraguan wrapper and binder over Honduran and Nicaraguan filler, representing the tobacco as it would have tasted after its long voyage across the Atlantic.
