Yagua

Yagua is a J.C. Newman limited release inspired by a Cuban tradition described by Lazaro Lopez, General Manager of J.C. Newman PENSA, whose grandfather rolled cigars on the family farm in Cuba and bound them with strips of the Cuban royal palm tree, known as yagua, to give them shape. J.C. Newman recreates this method at PENSA, rolling cigars without molds or presses and binding them while still wet with palm leaves so that each cigar takes on a slightly unique shape. The blend uses an under-fermented Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and is aged for one full year after rolling. Limited to 1,000 boxes of 20 cigars.
