"Mild? Smooth? or Both?"
I really couldn't tell if this stick was mild or it has just gotten smooth since it's been in my humidor from 1-2 years. Maybe, it's both mild and smooth since I tasted a lot of different subtle flavors which let to a very rewarding smoke. Sure like most Camacho's their not much to look at, but the burn and taste are very good.

"Perhaps I'm a bit more critical now.."
Last November I wrote a review on this stick. Perhaps I have become a bit spoiled smoking many superior cigars (I'm smoking less cigars these days focusing on ones that I find to be better) leading to my rating this cigar a bit lower now. It's still a rough stick a bit of an ugly ducking, dull and bumpy. It burns mostly evenly, needing a bit of help from the torch a third of the way through. The draw is very nice. The flavor is in the med-full range but not too powerful. Chary and not very complex, a sprinkle of Camacho black pepper, burnt cocoa, but somewhat smooth. Nice flavor until near the end when an acrid taste emerged. Still, it is an enjoyable cigar but not a smoking experience that I would look forward to with anticipation. If you smoke a lot of cigars and can find this at a bargain price it is worth putting in the occasional rotation. I received a number of them without charge when C.B. mistakenly sent me these twice instead of the natural wrapper. they ended up letting me keep them free. For the price I paid I can't complain.

"Updated review"
UPDATE: In addition to my earlier review, I want to add that, like many Camachos, this one smooths with age w/o losing its pepper! I am enjoying the last of a box that will be replaced soon.

"An enjoyable maduro"
Yes, you win the SLR on cigarbid thinking that you are getting the natural wrapper but you will instead get the maduro. this has happened to e twice already. I really enjoyed the natural but fortunately the maduro is no loss. the maduro features a rough dark brown, very oily wrapper with an uneven cap - very Camacho like. It is solid and hefty with no soft spots. Attractive in a rustic way. Nice cocoa pre-light aroma. Lights up smoothly, great easy draw, right away you get more cocoa, a toasted cocoa taste, a bit charcoal like. This cigar is not real complex. the cocoa-charcoal taste continues with a little bit of mild pepper. It is very tasty however, so no complaints here. This cigar burned evenly. the ash was somewhat weak though and fell off after only about an eighth or so was smoked. Full bodied and smooth tasting it produced clouds of fragrant smoke. Very enjoyable and recommended.

"Good smoke!"
This cigar appeared to have a maduro wrapper, although it did not have the extra "Maduro" banding. I seem to remember hearing on CBid that they shipped a bunch of them with maduro wrappers, but in regular packaging.
Anyway, this smoke tasted great. It had the slightest sweetness on my lips at first, with a spicy smoke to accompany it. This smoke delivered the goods and left me more woozy than the regular Monarca I reviewed a few days ago. Great burn, construction, and appearance. I've got 4 left with a few months' age - I hope they're all as good as this one was.

"Camacho review #?"
Ok, Ashman really gets those numbers of reviews up, but did he have to review this cigar three times? C'mon guys, it is quality, not quantity. It is the same with the Camacho SLR series. These gars are vintage camacho all the way. They are firm to the touch and are alway built like a tank. Simply great! Like other SLRs, this cigar lights well, burns evenly and smells like a cigar should....not flowery and not really meant to get others to compliment you. Save that for a Cojimar.
The nice price tag on these paiered with Camacho quality make up for the fact that this cigar' flavor is a little average and mild for the experienced smoker. This makes a great late-morning or early afternoon cigar. Smoke a PUNCH or Super Feunte after that big dinner steak 🙂

"Toro en maduro."
Lightly filled, almost hollow at the foot, with a very free draw that requires a slow smoke. Beautiful dark oily wrapper makes the red and gold band look out of place. Begins a little harsh and peppery with no sweetness or cocoa. Straight forward maduro flavor and no complexity makes this one too much like it's counterpart in the natural wrapper. Kinda reminds me of the IT Super Fuerte with outrageous box prices and very little return for your money. A very average cigar.

"camach SLR"
Really liked it. I have smoked 4 of these so far. 1 had a bad burn. The other three burned even with lots of smoke. Like the flavor of this stick. I will keep a stash of these in my Humi. Can pick of a 5er on the Devil for 11-13.

"Better"
Gained flavor, lost strength still not up to Camacho standards.

"A good solid cigar"
I started out smoking the rothchild SLRs but migrated to smoking the toros because the good part of this stick does not develop until later in the smoke. The toro gives you more of it. The first 1/3 is pretty uneventful, with just a straightforward tobacco flavor. After that, it develops some sweetness and some more complex flavors, but nothing overly challenging or particularly interesting. That said, I like this stick...it has a good balance that makes it a particularly friendly and accomodating smoke. Not too mild, not too strong, not too challenging and not too simple. A decent early afternoon choice.

"Well......"
Not great, not bad, and not a cigar I would seek out. Got them in a sampler. The woody peppery beginning did not develop into anything in particular. Middle of the road smoke. If you can get them for under $2 they're worth it. Aging the other one for a long time and hoping.

"A Hit!"
Find myself coming back to this cigar more and more. It's unique in taste, and I appreciate the consistent quality of construction and burn.
