"The Cameroon flavor is lost...."
This cigar had perfect construction and burn. Draw was just a tad tight but that made it smoke slow and cool. Wrapper had the typical Cameroon look, with one hole, walnut color, little viens and those tiny bumps. First inch or so it had lots of little nuances and spices, but as I smoked it the cigar turned into something other than Cameroon taste. It got really woody and leathery and lost the sweet spice that I'd hoped the wrapper would deliver. With a double Cameroon wrapper I was thinking this cigar would be totally different. Second half got a little boring. Got this free from Famous. I guess they like me, haha. Hence the value score.

"Why does this have to be an exclusive..."
they simply suck now... a certain "well known website" is now the distributer for this cigar and they have turned one of my all time favorite cameroons into bs... if you can find original cx2's buy them, you will not be disapointed...

"Less than Nothing Special"
The cigar did not smell good unlit, as some cigars do unlit. It has a relatively attractive brown wrapper, but it is slightly loose. The cigar was bland and mostly tasteless. What taste it did have was a slight spice and slightly harsh.

"simple, but good"
I wrote a long review of this that did not get used; so, I will keep it short: Mine had a perfect draw but had a stem in the head that jammed my cutter. I like the band w/holes-- makes holding easy. Nothing bad but not interesting w/ superior wrapper and good simple flavor: basic tobacco w/bit of spice, slight sweetness. Good but overpriced.

"still not great"
Smoked one with many months, maybe over a year, of age and not much better, but marginally so. A bit less bitter and definitely sweeter on the wrapper. Smoked it way down where I did find some spice not previously detected. VERY toothy also. Got a canoe and flaky ash, again. Keep searching.

Looks and draw acceptable, had an irregular burn that worked itself out numerous times. Initial flavor left a lot to be desired but that resolved itself to some extent after the first 1/2".

"way overpriced and over hyped"
Nice aroma, usually. Other than that, burn was ragged and flavor was a bit bitter on top of a burnt toast flavor (and I didn't scorch the cigar). To it's credit I did smoke it down to an inch and a half or so but there was just nothing there that would bring me back to it.

"not good."
I did not like this cigar at all. Too bitter and acidic, very bad flavor. Draw was okay. I expect a lot from CAO and this does not live up to their other stellar offerings. Ill stick with the Italias and Brazilias.

"Decent"
for a CAO, this is average, but for anyone else this is pretty good. A solid feeling cigar, the flavor is stright wood. No big frills, but I liked it. Kind of a strange band, but oh well. I recommend these for 2-3 buck each.

"Bad construction"
I like the CAO Brazilians and some of the other CAOs but I was disappointed in this one. It started out as a nice even burn but about 1/3 of the way it started burning uneven. It was spicy with a bit of cocoa. I will stick to the Brazilians.

"Better than I expected"
I have heard of the construction issues with the CX2 and I had none. Good straight burn and no unraveling. The wrapper was nice and oily and I had it sitting in my humi for 6 months. Flavor was sweet with a little nutmeg and stayed throughout. I smoked it to the nub with coffee in the morning - a lower end medium smoke I think. I am a big Brazilia fan and I like the flavor profile in that line better, especially the Gol. Got this in a sampler from Atlantic so I did not pay the normal price. I would smoke this again if the price was right.

"For cameroon lovers"
I really enjoyed this cigar, although the uneven burn was a little irritating. It was a little dry though. So I will have to get another store it in my own humidor to my specs and then try it after a month, some of these stores do not pay enough attention to humidor conditions.

"Initial Smoke"
I am a cigar smoking neophyte. Thew was my third cigar experience. Sliced the cap with brand new double blade cutters, and it split to about an inch beyond the band from the cap. I would fault my technique, but even being new to smoking, I have cut two others, with not so much as a problem. I used identical technique. The stogie must have been very dry, but it was pliable, yet firm enough when I selected it. Smoked it about 1.5 hours later, after being in a sealed bag, inside the shade of a glove box, on a mild, sunny winter day. I can't imagine that it dried out *that* much, as my wife had an acid in the same bag, that presented fine. Both were in the cello that they were displayed in from the humidor at the shop. The appearance looked fine, and was firm, yet pliable on initial inspection. The wrapper seemed nicely finished, with a slightly satin sheen. The smoke itself was wholly unremarkable. No complexity of flavor, in comparison to Ghurka, or Java by Drew Estate smokes I've sampled.

Perhaps I just got a bad one, but life is too short to and there are too many smoking options out there to repeat past bad experiences.

For the price of these cigars you wouldn't think that they would blow apart as if stuffed with firecrackers, but that is exactly what has happened to me and some others that I know. I won't buy one again, and I am a CAO fan.

"Eh...mostly hype?"
I picked this up from the local B&M on a clearance for the end of the year. Went from about $9 to $5.50. Always wanted to try one, so i figured the price was actually okay. I bought it because i was a slight newbie at cigars, so i tried many Mild and medium, and heard the CX2 was a good medium. Well, after the CX2 and a couple of dissapointing Mild cigars, i've quickly graduated to more fuller bodied cigars. Anyways, the cigar looked nice, but when i cut the head, the wrapper unraveled a bit. A quick lick and it held enough. Good even burn. Very Slow burn. I only smoked it for about an hour and only made it about half way. Got bored of the flavor. Not much to talk about, mostly just a toasty flavor. I must have missed the sweet flavors. I would try again if someone gave one, but don't think i'd buy another. And i like CAO stuff. Try the Gold instead, i liked it a lot more.

I love cammy's and this was a true double dose of it. It had great draw, decent aroma and it was tasty right down to the label and I thought that the filler did everything to compliment the wrapper and binder. The only complaint is the price.

"Overrated, but still good"
I get sick of hearing about the "connaisseurs" of smoking. Like there is someone out there who is going to tell me what the best tobacco is for me and that it holds the most flavors..blah blah blah. I've smoked EMS cigars that had more flavors than the cams I've smoked, this one included. That said, this is not a bad cigar. It does have a nice nutty flavor and burns slow and evenly like other CAO offerings. The price turns me away from this one though. If you want a cheaper cam, just look at astral. They are not great, but you can at least see what I mean as far as not falling for the "This is the best of whatever" snare. The best for you is what you like.....unless it is swisher sweets 🙂

"Nice but pricey"
Got one as a freebie from CAO. A very nice medium body smoke with a nutty, just slightly sweet flavor. Stayed cool throughout, nice aroma, a few issues with uneven burn. After smoking the freebie I thought that I would buy a box but they're too pricey for me. Maybe if I can get a deal on C-Bid.

"Too expensive"
This cigar was slightly spicy (cameroon times two???) but was toasty smooth with a slight nicaraguan earthiness. It was smooth to the fingers but was a bit indistinct and certainly not worth the high price. I prefer the Criollo series by far.

"Cameroon Overload"
Upon lighting this robusto I was met with a burst of earthy goodness, when the wrapper promply split. I pasted it down with factory fresh sputum and continued on my merry way. This slight construction problem aside, the CX2 exudes an aroma like a french cathouse. If you like cameroon the way a hormone crazed teenager likes Axe body spray, this is your man. It's sweet and spicy times 2, but please, take it outside.

"Smokey and Toasty"
From the light, the first taste I got was toasty and spicy smoke. This followed through to the first third, until the second third, which mellowed out a little with some woodiness, but still spicy and toasty. Paired it with a Glenlivit 18, which added some nice sweetness along with the standard smokey / peaty flavor Glenlivit is known for. The last third started turning a bit rank and so I ditched it somewhat early into the last third.

"Pleasant CAO X2"
This a must try cigar lots of spice and just a touch of swiitnees. The wrapper was nice and oily and with the cap cut and the foot lit it was time to just lay back and smell the aroma of cameroon. The foot burned with a dark salt and pepper ash all the way down to the nub. The taste was on the medium to full side with lots of leathery and toasty spicy wood. Just a pleasant smoke.

"Too expensive for what it is."
Well, Ill start off by saying that I did enjoy the smoke. What I did not enjoy was the price. I wouldnt spend more than about $3.50-4 for this stick. It wasnt bad, but it lacked the variety that is typical with more expensive cigars. The burn was good and I had no problem with the construction. A good cigar, but in this price range, I can think of many better ones out there.

"Consistent medium body stick"
I really like this cigar for what is does. It is a good medium body, fairly consistent in flavor through. It does lack some complexity, but I don't think that is what this stick is about. Earthy with a little sweet spice. Beautiful look and near perfect construction. A little too pricey for me to buy them frequently, but I pick one up every once in a while. I really recommend for anybody who really likes Cameroon wrapper.

"Poor first impression"
I am a huge fan of CAO products and was looking forward to trying the CX2. I was very disappointed. Nice medium bodied smoke with strong earthy flavor. Not great. Construction was awul. Never accomplished an even burn and after approximately 1/3 the wrapper started to unravel and then split apart revealing the binder and a huge bulge. I have more in my humidor and have never had a bad experience with a CAO. I will give it another go and hope that this experience was an abberation

Was eager to try this new line and it did not disappoint. Well made, great draw with plenty of smoke. Strength was medium bodied, earthy, woody with hints of sweetness here and there. Tended to be more earthy than spicy, much like with the Anniversary and Criollo line. Pricing seemed a bit high.
