"Pretty good"
This cigar was better than average. I smoked it on a very windy day, so I'm not sure I got the full experience.

"Not too good"
got 5 In a CI special of 10 sticks. First two were bad. Flavor not just bland but bad. Third one rested about 8 weeks. A bit better. If I had paid full price, I would have been angry. I will let the last two rest for longer period of time. Much better cigars for less money.

"Liked it"
Was surprised with this smoke, complex, nice looking and construction wise I had worse...First third was of sweet spice but then it chage to and earthy woody character with herbal hints..enjoyable I liked It.

"Classy smoke"
The Graycliff 1666 Pirate is one of those cigars that newbies (not a shot, just a description) often "step up" to. After fumbling away with "too good to be true" deals on dog rockets (do you know why they call them this, I do, cool story)...they eventually buy a Graycliff 1666, often in a sample pack from "that site." It is a noble attempt and one could do much much worse. I would not categorize this cigar as exceptional, but I will say it is a giant step up from 90% of the cigars that can be found in similar deals on the internets. A nice, fairly complex smoke, that changes from 1st to 2nd to final third. Creamy delicious plumes, with hints of cedar, fudge, spice, and nutmeg. It's Bahamian roots add another level of mystery. Not the prettiest cigar in your humi most likely, but one that seems to always deliver with pleasurable consistency. I have smoked perhaps 10 of these, and believe that if found "on sale" or "in a sampler" it is a deal in and of itself. I feel this gar has an almost beachy quality to it, it is somewhat aloof, whimsical, but will always come through when others fail. Pairs well with mellow beers, iced coffee (if that is your thing), water, diet coke, and just maybe a baileys on ice. Enjoy this newbies, you will realize that few cigars at twice the the cost will deliver with such purity.

"Good Start,, Bad Finish!"
The Graycliff 1666 Pirate torpedo is a premium cigar that averages around $10 to $15 a stick. Well constructed with a beautiful pre-smell, I lit the end and let it sit a moment before smoking. It had a nice blue smoke and the first taste was delicious. Sweet hints of sweet woods and mocha with a smooth creamy flavor dominated the first 1/3 of the cigar. I am loving this! Half way though, the mocha continued and the strength built to a medium cigar with a touch of black pepper. It was still creamy and spicy during this part but then the delight disappeared. During the final part of the smoke that nasty metallic taste appeared. No way! Not with this good cigar!!! I tried to get this out of my mind, but the metal was still there. Some call it a clean cedar taste, but it aint! I have a few more which I will cook in the humi before another light. Hopefully this will soften the last part of the smoke. Buy again? If not for the finish I would say YES. But there are better $10 cigars on the market.

"Dark and Smooth"
This was quite a nice smoke ... I was expecting it to knock me on my kiester based on the color the wrapper, but was nicely surprised by an extremely smooth smoke. I found some really nice undertones of spice. My only real complaint was the burn was a little un-even. I got these on a sampler package at a nice price and will let the others soak up some spanish cedar for a few months before I do another.

"another over rated cigar"
ok taste, uneven burn, one of these cigars that
test price high, suggesting to the cust they must be good...They're not...! Were the worst of a sampler of 5 different sticks I bought.
Its a crime if these are more than 2-3 bucks per...

"Not bad"
GC is not what it used to be, but they still make fine cigars. The construction is good here, even if the flavor is kind of missing. I only paid 6 bucks, so that helps.

"Are you a scurvy ridden scallywag?"
I can't spell - Nevertheless, this cigar was touted as the best and for the price paid ($18) I expected so... It was a milder cigar for my liking, but nicly put together. Pretty wrapper and nice burn. The smoke was not as thick as I would have preferred. All in all a good cigar - not great and not for this price. It lacked the characteristics I would look for in a good cigar for aging - that then puts it squarely in competition with my Padron Anniversary as my "out of the box" champ. No comparison at this price. Just none. Worth trying as I could see this cigar appealing to a milder palate.

"Graycliff Pirate"
Beautiful white ash with great taste till the end. I've been waiting about a year to try this - purchased in Nausau then - and wasn't diappointed. Is now on my top 10 list.

This is a great stick. Never have had a bad burn and used to smoke all the time. But for the money I have found to many good ISOM's to smoke. But for a special occasion this is a great choice.

"Mild but nice."
Pricey cigars, I was lucky enough to be gifted a 4 year old one. It was much milder than I expected, kind of Macanudo-ish but with more complexity in the flavors. I will probably wait to be gifted another one of these at the current price.

"Very unique smoke."
Top quality but expensive smoke. Very unique, spicy, complex and milky in flavor. Easy draw and also mild to medium in body. Good for an occasional smoke being that they are a bit overpriced.

"Striving for...."
Average looking good construction. What I liked about it was the aroma--soft and pleasantly nutty. This is also one of the long suits of good Cuban cigars--like soft perfume. Pleasant straight tobacco taste. Much too expensive.

"Not @ $400/box"
A very nice refined cigar. Smokes well into the second half, although it isn't a terribly long smoke. Fairly mild, perhaps medium body. It starts out nipping at the back of my tounge, but mellows quickly. Nice. Not great.

"Torpedo heaven"
Absolutely on the pricey side, and almost worth it. Avelino is an artist with cigars, and the Pirate is a portrait well painted. I have a box, and they don't seem to differ with age, so your better off not storing them...as if you could anyway!

"Very easy smoke"
Had the second of 2 brought back from the Bahamas last month, and it's about the easiest cigar to smoke that I've had. Balanced flavor, medium body (blue label), smooth from start to finish, and LOTS of smoke. Perfectly rolled. Unfortuately, expensive too, but should be tried.
