"Still a Thompson"
If there were only Thompson cigars in the world, this would be near or at the top of the heap. Fortunately for us, Thompson cigars are nothing more than an awkward self-promotion attempt by a huge typically over-priced distributor of better smokes. This gar is easy on the wallet. The wrapper is loose and there are several paper wrinkles in these sticks. The tobacco is mild and there is not a lot of flavor, which will appeal to some newer smokers. If I compared this to other Thompson fare, it would get a 9, but that is not the world we live in. Compared to the bredth of cigars I have tried, this is a dead average stick at best. The price is the one saving grace to boast over mediocrity.

"Blah"
These came free with a humidor I bought from Thompson cigars. They're nice smokes to give away to your non-cigar smoking friends when you're lighting up something one of your favorites.

"Not too bad"
Received w/ Humidor package. Nicely constructed, not too loose a roll, slightly musty odor. Early on tasted of mold but smoothed out and had a surprisely clean, leathery flavor with a hint of pine. Skips in the ash during burn. No harshness or ammonia til the very end. All in all, not too bad.

I was really surprised by the tase for this price... another proof that price low price doesn`t mean bad cigar... i agree with another reviewer, its harsh at the end ... overall an excellent cigar for the price.

"not too bad"
These came in a bundle with a humidor I bought. For being a very inexpensive cigar these aren't too bad. Had a decent burn with a okay white ash. Nutty with a leather undertone. Yeah they're Thompsons but don't let that keep you away from smoking these.

"Almost threw these away"
Got a bundle of these in a sampler with humidor. They were cello wrapped and bundled in cello. So imagine my surprise when I took a sniff of the bundle and they reeked of ammonia. Not a mild ammonia smell, a REEK. So, do I put these in my humidor with cigars that smell nice and spoil them? No, I decided to make a tupperador and store these separately for a few months. Three months later I'm curious and open the Tupper. Yikes, still ammonia heaven. I valiantly took one out of the bundle and its cello and got ready for business. The taste was actually not as bad as the smell, mild Dominican taste, construction and burn were OK. I'll keep them separate until the ammonia taste is gone. Not that bad for the price but there are much better bundle cigars out there.

"Thompson Phoenix"
Not a bad smoke for the money. Well constructed, not mushy. A pleasant, nutty flavor. Good burn. A little harsh near the end.

"Thompson's best"
Good smoke, especially considering it is a Thompson house brand. Delivers a consistantly flavorful and smooth smoke all the way through. Have about 5 left in the humidor from a bundle of 20 I picked up about 4 years ago, and they keep getting better.
