Over the last year I've tried these cigars and have found them to be pretty darn consistant, Meaning well constructed great ash and very pretty white smoke. Taste has been great on all of the VC cigars I've smoked.

"Just OKAY"
I bought these for $40 at CI. The box came with a sampler pack of 8 sticks so I tried a variety of Sinclair blends. After trying the Vintage stick, I sent the entire box back, unopened for a refund. Not my kinda stick. Harsh from the start and continued so through to almost the very end. It smoothed out somewhat about 90% through - still, not for me. I did try a second one just in case - same thing. Nicely constructed, not too soft with a decent smoke cloud. But for the money and taste combo - many, many others out there that are much better.

"Maybe"
Not the worst cigar I have ever smoked, but nothing to brag about. The only saving grace is that there is a good deal on these available. A "cedar chest of humidor quality" with 30 cigars, and a terrific 10 cigar sampler (worth $25-$30) of Victor Sinclairs more upsale selection, (a total of 40 cigars) for $60. A golden brown, rough looking wrapper, lots of veins. Fair construction, with a good draw, but just average burn. Burned on one side for about a third, but then evened out. Fairly mild, decent bread and nut flavors. Perhaps good as a "yard gar," and I would believe a beginner, or someone looking for a little step up from El Producto or Phillies, may find this package, available at $60, a fair deal. Experienced smokers should steer clear, nothing much going on here.

"Weak"
Not a good cigar, but not awful. Appearance was pretty rough, but the burn and draw were fantastic. This puppy lost big in the flavor department, which is the biggest factor in a cigar. The smoke at first had an odd taste that I could not figure out for a minute or so. And then, it dawned on me. It tasted like I was smoking a rice cake. It was pretty bad, but it soon faded away to an okay tobacco flavor that later developed into a hot ash flavor. Not worth the $3.00 I spent on it.

"Imaginary"
Got a box of the Connecticut Rubustos for a steal. Turns out it was I who was robbed! The cigars are inconsistent in wrapper color and construction. A couple burned well, but more did not. The only consistency in these cigars is an overwhelming lack of flavor and character. Almost like an imaginary cigar...it's like its not really there! This is my first and last purchase.

"Good, not VC's best though"
VC makes a good smoke, no matter what. You really need to keep them well humidified though or they can turn bitter on you. The one I had, sat in my humidor for at least 8 months. When I smoked it, I sat on my front porch and really concentrated on it. It was deep and had a nutty..almost coffee aroma. It was the first time I had a VC cigar become bitter in the last 2 inches. Up until then, it was a very good smoke.

Take one if you are offered, but invest in a Vintage Select if you are going to pay $$.

"Just ain't there."
Been aging these for a couple of years. Kind of a bumpy cigar with an easy draw. The ash is white, but powdery. The flavor is papery & slightly bitter. There is a slight herbal quality in the sinus. Mild & not there.....ain't ever gonna be there.

"Spicy"
Spicy and harsh. I can taste the tingling on my tongue, but not in a good way. Got too spicy and was forced to stop because I was not enjoying the pins and needle taste.

"Yuck"
Gave these gars many chances, and even tried aging them....same results. One of the most horrible smokes I've had. I wouldn't even give them away for free. Used as fertilizer.
